Linked Imagery

Look again at your own poem. Make sure that you're aware of all the links your pattern of images generates. You may find it helpful to make a diagram or map of these, so you can see at a glance whether you have any associations that are only partly linked in - or any which are completely disconnected. (Be honest with yourself - redrafting might mean losing your favourite phrase. But it's better to have a whole poem that works, rather than a splendid phrase surrounded by a ruin. And anyway, you can save your favourite phrase for another poem, where it really belongs.)
