Sometimes we go to the opera

 Sometimes we go to the opera

to watch the tubby tenor

woo the imposing soprano

but most I like the concert recitals

where fat women with perfect control

in astonishing frocks exercise

the range of the emotions and

the capacity of their lungs

and are applauded.
