Inclined shafts and adits in Cleave Wood, extending east 1/4 to 1/2 mile. Site of earlier anthracite mining (see Westwood Mine) paint seam to south of culm seams opened up 1919-20 worked until 1960s. (Acworth; Claughton, Spring 1976)
