Academic History and Research Interests

Andrew obtained a 1st Class BSc in Computer Science from the University of Exeter in 2006. He is currently carrying out research on Face Recognition for his PhD thesis.

My current research includes (but is not limited to):

• Bayesian Face Recognition using the Relevance Vector Machine
• Use of Gabor Wavelets for feature extraction
• Multi Objective Optimisation of the Relevance Vector Machine

Personal Interests

Outside of Academia Andrew has been an active member of several musical groups and societies. Currently he is playing Solo Cornet with Exeter Railway Band and is the music tutor for the brass section at Exeter Children's Orchestra. Past groups he has been involved in include the University of Exeter Concert Band, Sale Brass Band and the jazz and concert bands at his secondary school. Additionally, whenever in the area he enjoys playing with Elmfield Brass Band.

Other than music he enjoys reading, watching films and, if pressed, the odd game of badminton.
