Handouts (9th October 1996)
I am sorry there weren't enough handouts to go round at the first lecture. However, additional copies will be available next week. In the meantime, you can read the handout on the web, or collect a copy from the box outside my office, Room 242, Washington Singer Laboratories.
New books (January 1996)
- An excellent new book has appeared, The animal mind by Gould & Gould. I have ordered copies for the library. This comes as close as any published book does to ranging across all the topics covered in the lecture course, and it is strongly recommended as revision/extension material.
- A second edition of Marian Stamp Dawkins' Unravelling animal behaviour has been published, and I have ordered copies for the library. According to reviews, it is quite a bit different from the first edition, so be careful if following references to this book. The first edition was an excellent book and reading either edition would be a good way of revising or extending your knowledge of the material covered in this course.
