			 POSIX Panel Activity Report
				 4 June 1996

	IST/5/-/15 has not met since the last IST/5 meeting on the 6-
	March, attempting to work electronically instead.  WG15 last met
	between the 20-24 May 1996; a meeting report is attached.

	The most significant points from the WG15 meeting were:

	      . WG15 terminated the existence of its Rapporteur Group on
		Internationalisation, with effect from the end of its
		meeting.
	      . WG15, at the request of the Danish member body, debated
		and made some modifications to its Synchronisation Plan
		with the IEEE PASC development body.  The changes were
		not as far reaching as Denmark requested.
	      . WG15 authorised the forwarding of a number of documents
		corresponding to its set of work items - IST/5 can expect
		the flow of drafts to continue.

	SC22 N2062:	PDAM-3 to 9945-1 (POSIX) part 1: System API:
		Protection, Audit and Control interfaces (C language)

		Concurrent PDAM Registration and PDAM Ballot:
		Ballots due 30-May-1996

	The panel recommended a YES vote, with no comments.


	SC22 N2063:	PDAM-3 to 9945-2 (POSIX) part 2: Shell & Utilities:
		Protection and Control interfaces

		Concurrent PDAM Registration and PDAM Ballot:
		Ballots due 30-May-1996

	The above correspond to IEEE PASC P1003.6 (Security) Group's
	Draft 15 documents, amending P1003.1 and P1003.2 respectively.

	The panel recommended a YES vote, with no comments.


	SC22 N____:	DIS 14515-1: (POSIX) part1: Test Methods:
		Test Methods for Measuring Compliance to POSIX Part 1:
		System Interfaces

		DIS Ballot:
		Ballot due 22-Jun-1996

	The panel recommends a YES vote, with no comments.


	SC22 N1896:	PDAM-2 to 9945-2 (POSIX) part 2: Shell & Utilities:
		Amd 2 (Internationalisation changes to Shell & Utilities)

		PDAM Registration Ballot ONLY
		Ballot due 15-May-1996

	(NB: N2027 incorrectly requested a concurrent PDAM registration
	 and PDAM ballot.  N2052 cancelled that.  N2054 requested the
	 PDAM Registration only).

	The panel recommended a YES vote, with no comments.


	SC22 N2008:	WD Amendment to 9945-1 (POSIX) part 1: System API:
		Transparent File Access amendment

		Working Draft for Review and Comment


	SC22 N2009:	WD Amendment to 9945-1 (POSIX) part 1: System API:
		Protocol Independent Interfaces

		Working Draft for Review and Comment

	I have so far received no comments from the panel members who are
	reviewing the draft.
