P1003.2b Shell and Utilities - Extensions: Draft 10 This document was received in March, and the UK offered a number of comments on this Draft to the May meeting of WG15. The UK was concerned at that time with a number of sections flagged as awaiting input from the Danish and Japanese member bodies. Draft 11 of this document has since been received (as SC22 N1896, on 29-August) for concurrent PDAM registration and PDAM ballot; it omits all the references to input from the Danish and Japanese MBs - see detailed comments in Annex 1 below. . Some items on this list are related to the status of some of the items listed as awaiting input in P1003.2b D10. Where the nascent RIN Issues List offers resolutions to any of the items awaiting input in P1003.2b Draft 10 these are indicated below: it appears however that a number of the items removed between Drafts 10 and 11 of P1003.2b are still unresolved, and that further input is still anticipated from the nominated WG15 member bodies. Page 7: 2.5 Locale ...from 9945-2:1993 Annex H.1 (1) Provisions should be made to allow characters beyond those in the portable character set in user-supplied identifiers for the shell, awk, bc, lex, make, and yacc. A proposal has been made by Denmark to extend the locale definition to specify the set of identifier characters for all programming languages.
