The group last met in October 2000 and are progressing the combined revision of ISO 9945-1, ISO 9945-2 and the Single UNIX Specification V3 (see http://www.opengroup.org/austin for details). Much activity occurs electronically via the web and on the mailing lists. A comprehensive set of comments on the ISO ballot was submitted through the UK delegation to ISO for draft 4 of the joint specification. Draft 5 is now available. This is the first recirculation of the complete draft of the specification. Concurrent IEEE balloting and The Open Group Review is taking place on this draft. Draft 5 totals some 3682 pages. The eight week review period for draft 5 completes at 8am UK time on February 15th 2001. A plenary review meeting is being held during the week commencing March 5th to process the comments arising from the Draft 5 review period.
