This  is a brief status update for the Austin Group. The group
has made significant progress since the last WG15 meeting:

-A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the IEEE and
The Open Group regarding intellectual property.

-The first draft document set was sent out for review on June 1st

- The IEEE Project Authorization request was approved on June 26th.
This project is officially P1003.1 at the IEEE level.

- The third Austin Group meeting was held July 20-22 at the IEEE PASC
conference in Montreal to review the first draft document set.

There appear to be some issues where WG15 may be able to assist,
particularly in the style and document layout , where the working
group has expressed concerns that the usability of the document
may be impacted by applying the existing ISO document style guidelines.

It is anticipated that the next Austin Group meeting will occur in
early Year 2000.
