Please refer to the WG20 web page, http://www.dkuug.dk/JTC1/SC22/WG20/ for further information. 1. The TR "Framework for Internationalization" is being forwarded to ISO/CS for DTR ballot - DTR 11017. This is essentially building on the C and POSIX models in i18n. 2. The TR "Guidelines for the design of programming languages" PDTR 10176 is out for PDTR ballot ending 1996-05-26. This has a number of new recommendations on 10646 and i18n support. 3. The standard on international string ordering, 14651 is scheduled for CD registration and possible CD ballot mid-summer 1996. It uses enhanced POSIX localedef syntax. 4. The standard on cultural data specification, 14652 is scheduled for CD registration and possible CD ballot mid-summer 1996. This specifies enhanced POSIX localedef and charmap formats, and a standard locale. 5. WG20 has invited CEN/TC304 or a member body to progress the cultural registry standard ENV 12005, which registers ISO/IEC 9945-2:1993 conforming locales and charmaps, for international standardization, either via the Vienna Agreement or by fasttrack. 6. WG20 has had a NP on i18n APIs out for JTC1 ballot, this has failed due to lack of participation. 7. WG20 has created a home page as noted above, and will according to the new JTC1 document distribution policy publish a number of documents on the web, including Committee Draft level documents.
