ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG15 N524 Title: Danish national activities report Date: 1994-10-25 Source: Danish Standards Association Agenda: WG15 9410 1.6 Action: for information This is the response from DS to the WG15 Action Items 9405-15 DS has submitted example Danish National profiles to WG15, and they are included in IS 9945-1 and IS 9945-2. 9405-19 DS can offer Keld Simonsen as participant in Edi- ting groups for IS 9945-1 and IS 9945-2 9405-29 DS has no comment on the project management format in N486 9405-42 DS believes that an international register of POSIX Locales and Charmaps are required for use of POSIX internationalization functionality in a consistent way across application platforms and systems. DS believes that the CEN registry will be adequate technically for this purpose. There may be problems in referencing CEN standards and thus registered items according to a CEN standard, in ISO/IEC stan- dards. The CEN/ISO/IEC Vienna agreement may have further information on this. If it is not possible to use CEN standards, CEN could promote its POSIX registry standard to become an ISO/IEC standard. 9405-44 DS offers comments in N521 9405-49 DS offered one comment by email to the WG15 email reflector, on an error in POSIX-1 with a syntaxical error (on TZ) in an informative annex. Another problem was not available by email, but is included in the Disposition of Comments on POSIX-2 DIS, where a proposed editorial change (clarifying loca- ledef "copy" be not binary) was deemed "sub- stantial" in IEEE terms. 9405-58 As CEN working relation, N495 was sent to CEN/- TC304, and as a result, TC304 plan to allow JTC1 members to submit to the CEN registry. -- Keld Simonsen Keld@dkuug.dk
