Date: Thu, 06 Dec 90 15:14:41 MST From: Donn Terry X-Charset: ASCII X-Char-Esc: 29 (This is about Greger's proposal to stratify locale stuff into layers.) Greger: Having thought about it (for a long time): I will ballot against it because I think that it's the wrong answer for the world community. However, that isn't a "hard" objection. I will ultimately withdraw it if I "lose" on the subject, but I want to go on record this time around as thinking it's a bad idea. I hope that others agree with me and outvote the "ugly Americans", and it gets withdrawn. (I realize that that's more work for you, but I think that it acheives the real goal of consensus better.) As far as the details; they look fine. I can live with them given that it's accepted at all. I would expect that many profiles (including X/Open) would specify the "high" level. Clearly, non-US ones (again including X/Open!) should! Donn
