There have been a small number of administrative changes. There are one or two things I yet need to know from some people, please! Accommodation is now in Bryant Hall. This is by far the best on campus, possibly to do with the fact that it is run by a foundation established as a religious/charitable organisation. Apart from this, the accommodation is better, the meals are of the finest (not, perhaps, cordon bleu -- but the Warden's family eat there most of the time (which must be some sort of recommendation!). Those of you who have campus maps will see that it is at the opposite end -- off Knighton Road (not Hillcrest Road), Gate No 2 leads to the office about fifty metres from the entry. Because we are now a smaller more select group we decided to change the rooms to be used for the meetings, so that we are not too much like peas in a very large pod. Consequently plenary meetings will be held in Building I basement room 10 (IB.10), a short walk across the car park, past the lake from Bryant Hall. Morning and afternoon coffee/tea is arranged for the foyer there. Sub-group meetings will be held one building away in the School of Computing (G block -- H does not exist except as a narrow strip of grass!). I've arranged for the RIN meeting starting on the Sunday to be held in G1.28 -- merely because I have a key and we don't have to involve security people! As requested three sub-group rooms are available, a laser printer will be in IB.10 and copying facilities in G block itself within a step or two from the group meeting rooms. Those of you who have only recently advised me of your coming, I feel that mail of maps, etc will probably arrive after you set out. I will arrange, therefore, for a new map and some more administrivia to be available in printed form when you check in to Bryant Hall. For those of you checking in before Monday the bill for accommodation will be presented on Monday. Those of you arriving on Monday will find it waiting! May I once again remind you that credit/charge cards are NOT accepted. The good news is that the charge at Bryant Hall (even though most agree it is better) is less -- NZ$65.20 for full board per person per day. Those of you who have not yet advised me of the details of flights or whether you would like me to arrange picking up at the airport, please do so before you leave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will come to Auckland myself to pick people up provided that we wait to fill a car (most arrivals not from US or Australia are in the afternoon). Just in case of flight delays a flight number may be useful too. Those who have decided to make your own arrangements -- fine, but if I don't hear by Thursday next week I will assume you are organising yourself. We do look forward to seeing you all, having a lot of hard work and a bit of fun too. Don't forget that Wednesday 6th is dinner on the river, so you really have to take a break in the middle of the week! If you should need to contact me personally on your way or if you have problems with which I may help my phone number at home is +44-7-829-7544. Finally, while the addresses I have for most of you in the attached list are fine I would be grateful if people with question marks against an entry could fill it in for me. Regards, Keith Hopper PS If any dates are wrong on the attached, please let me know soonest -- if not earlier!!
