ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG15RIN N138 Title: DS report on WG15 RIN action items Source: Danish Standards Association Date: 1994-10-24 Action: for WG15 RIN meeting at Whistler This is the action Item report for RIN: AI 9405-01: We think the Canadian CHARID proposal is OK, we have additions to have a way to specify a different escape character than the default \, and to call the file "repertoiremap" to be in line with SC2 terminology (repertoire / coded character set corresponds to repertoiremap/charmap respectively). This is in line with the current CEN registration standard. AI 9405-02: DS has a number of text proposals for WG15 N461, and would like to know how to submit those for incorpration in the WD. The texts have already been submitted to RIN in a number of papers. AI 9405-04: DS has reviewed N137 (and earlier drafts N110, N129) and find that these represent a good framework for internationalization in line with WG15 work. AI 9405-05: DS has reviewed N105, N106, N109 and N113, and offer the following comments: N109 should be incorporated in .2b - possibly via a new "scriptic" classification, or using the alpha class, on a locale with the specifications done by WG20 on the extended identifier issue. N113 may be considered for a new standard POSIX locale on 10646 repertoire. AI 9405-09: See response to AI 9405-01 AI 9405-10: See response to AI 9405-02 AI 9405-11: DS would like to return to the issue by beginning of 1995. AI 9405-13: We think there may be issues in referencing a CEN standard from an ISO standard, and would like to have this issue investigated. DS thinks the CEN standard is very useful in the international environment. -- Keld Simonsen Keld@dkuug.dk
