Jim -----Original Message----- From: william c. rinehuls [mailto:rinehuls@access.digex.net] Sent: Thursday, September 17, 1998 12:34 PM To: sc22 Subject: (SC22.1317) SC22 POSIX Profiles Under SC22 Letter Ballot Greetings: At the last SC22 plenary, Willem Wakker was requested to confer with Keith Brannon on the numberings and titles for the two SC22 POSIX Profiles currently under SC22 letter ballot. Originally, as approved by JTC 1 and included in the SC22 Program of Work, the numbers for the Profiles were FPDISP 15287.01 (for the POSIX-Based Supercomputing Profile) and FPDISP 15287.02 (for the POSIX Real Time Application Support Profile), both under the umbrella project JTC 1.22.15287 which was intended to include all SC22 profiles. Subsequently, the number for FPDISP 15287.01 was changed to FPDISP 16469 and the SC22 letter ballot (N2723) was revised accordingly. FPDISP 15287.02 was renumbered FPDISP 15287. As a result of the discussions on this issue between Mr. Wakker and Mr. Brannon, it was agreed that FPDISP 16469 would be renumbered back to FPDISP 15287.01; FPDISP 15287 would be renumbered back to FPDISP 15287.02, and that the titles of both FPDISP 15287.01 and 15287.02 would be changed to reflect that both Profiles were part of the same "umbrella" subject. For the record, following are the correct numbers and titles for the two profiles. These numbers and titles will be used in the Summary of Voting on the two letter ballots and all future documentation: For ISP 15287-1 (formerly FPDISP 16469)(SC22 letter ballot N2723): "ISO/IEC ISP 15287-1 - Information technology - Programming languages, their environments and system software interfaces - International Standardized Profiles PSEnn - Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX) OSE Profiles - Part 1: PSE10-HIP - POSIX Supercomputing Application Environment Profile" For ISP 15287-2 (SC22 letter ballot N2694): "ISO/IEC ISP 15287-2 - Information technology - Programming languages, their environments and system software interfaces - International Standardized Profiles PSEnn - Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX) OSE Profiles - Part 2: PSE5n - POSIX Real Time Application Environment Profile". I have conveyed to both Willem and Keith SC22's appreciation for the work they have done to make this change to accommodate the original intention of SC22. Best regards Bill Rinehuls
