August was suggested because the SC22 meeting would also be held then in Denmark. This decision was made because of the concern that by not holding an October meeting of WG15 we would not be able to take timely action on some items. I am not aware of the current status of any of the documents undergoing disposition of comments and at this point in time have no reason to expect the August meeting to be needed. I expect that we will discuss it further at the WG15 meeting in Dallas next month, but my personal (not the US) opinion is that I see no need to hold a WG15 meeting in August. In addition to considering setting the next meeting for early 1999 in Japan; Dave Blackwood's suggestion that we might co-locate both a PASC and WG15 meeting with a TOG meeting; and increasing our electronic deliberations; perhaps we should also consider whether it would make sense to tie the WG15 meeting to the annual SC22 meeting. Finally, the need to identify a new convener continues to be a very critical aspect of these discussions, since without a convener it is highly likely there will be little need for future meetings. ...roger martin ============================================================================== At 11:50 AM 3/5/1998 EST, D.
