While this ad hoc has been formed as an IEEE/PASC group, it is hoped that there will be participation from both WG15 and The Open Group. As chair of this ad hoc group, I am inviting interested WG15 participants to sign up to ACTIVELY participate in its work. I intend to run this discussion primarily electronically. Most work will be done by e-mail and conference phone call. Also, we will have a face-to-face meeting in Dallas the week of April 20th. The ad hoc will submit an initial report to PASC/SEC at the April, 1998 (Dallas, TX) meeting and a final report no later than the July, 1998 (Nashua, NH) meeting. The method of operation will be to solicit an initial set of issues/recommendations and to then assign one or more persons to develop a short white paper (pro, cons, and recommendations) on a specific issue. These white papers will then be discussed via e-mail. I will serve as chair/moderator of the discussions and will also take care of the final editing of our report. If you are interested in participating in this ad hoc group, please send me e-mail (rjmartin@eng.sun.com) no later than Monday, February 16, 1998. Since our initial report is due the week of April 20th, we will need to work aggressively to develop our draft issues and recommendations by then. Roger Martin Chair, PASC/SEC "Coordination" Ad Hoc
