He reported on the progress of POSIX Ada language bindings projects, in the IEEE and WG15. The WG9 members were very disappointed to learn that IEEE STD 1003.5-1992, which was "fast-tracked" as ISO/IEC DIS 14519-1, for some unknown reason was never published after the DIS ballot. They now look forward to the fast-track approval and publication as ISO/IEC standard of IEEE STD 1003.5b-1996. Besides maintenance of the existing standards, WG9's main activity is a proposed new work item for a technical report giving guidance on the use of Ada in high-reliability applications.
