Please refer to the WG20 web page, http://www.dkuug.dk/JTC1/SC22/WG20/ for further information. 1. The TR "Framework for Internationalization" is in the process of being published as a TR by ITTF. This is essentially building on the C and POSIX models on i18n. 2. The TR "Guidelines for the design of programming languages" DTR 10176 is out for DTR ballot ending next month. This has a number of new recommendations on 10646 and i18n support. 3. The standard on international string ordering and comparison, 14651 is scheduled for FCD ballot October 1997. It uses enhanced POSIX locale syntax. 4. The standard on cultural data specification, 14652 is scheduled for CD registration and CD ballot June 1997. This specifies enhanced POSIX locale and charmap formats, and a standard locale covering IS 10646. 5. WG20 has got a new project 15435 on i18n APIs, giving access to the information encoded with IS 14652. 6. WG20 has created a home page as noted above, and will according to the new JTC1 document distribution policy publish a number of documents on the web, including distribution of Committee Draft level documents.
