The nearest ATM machines are about 1km down the hill from Crossmead, in the part of Exeter known as St Thomas. St Thomas presumably once was a village on the outskirts of the town, and retains some of the facilities - shops, chemists, post offices, pubs and a Nat West Bank with a couple of ATMs - required for civilised life. There is a bus service (Route C) which runs from Crossmead through St Thomas into Exeter's city centre. For very little inducement I'm sure members of the UK contingent with cars could be persuaded to make the lunchtime 'bank-raid' run. Hope this helps, please keep the questions coming.
