If you need to check rail schedules to/from Exeter, try RailTrack's 'web pages, at: http://timetables.railtrack.co.uk/ then follow the pages through 'Home' and 'Travel Information'. You can key either Heathrow or Gatwick as your Starting/Destination station, but MAKE SURE you type Reading as the 'via Station', to ensure you get the quickest route. When keying in Exeter station, you need to type just Exeter then submit the page. The response will allow you to select Exeter St.David's from a starting/destination station list (I can't find any way of doing this in one step, but feel free to try) then resubmit the page. The general comments on how to reach Exeter are on the 'web at: http://www.ex.ac.uk/~DCannon/WG15/uk-spring.html - if you have trouble reading these I'll be happy to email them.
