Also, DK was concerned with assuring Intl comment occured early enough in the process to be able to have impact on the IEEE Stds content. Note: when the "final CD" process gets established, appropriate guidence on this will be needed for specific ballots. --Subdivision of work was accepted for: Advanced real time (.1d) Profiles: Supercomputing (.10), & RT (.13) --SC22 has endorsed the concept of fasttrack for the Ada POSIX real time extensions --The Profile Taxonomy has been approved, and forwarded to SGFS --All of our "beyond 3 year" issues are into balloting except the LIS work, and extensions for these have been approved. But, it is important to get the electronic version of the 9945-1 amended text to Keld so the LIS evaluation can be accomplished. --Synchronization with regional standards was discussed (our concern about divergence between EN's and 9945 with amendments) ... Concurrent balloting was suggested on one hand; and the elimination of EN's where ISO stds exist has also been suggested, in any case this is a topic of discussion in JTC1, and also CEN. --WG20 will be the focal point for the SC22 CEN 304 relationship, providing input to other WG's as appropriate. 2) Other Resolutions of interest: --An ANDF CD reg. and NP ballots are in process, SC22 asked SC26 (which initiated these) to delay for 4 months so SC22 experts could review the materials. --SC22 formed a Java Study Group under the leadership of Bob Mathis, encouraging moving forward NP's as appropriate for Virtual Machine code and/or language specifications. Alternitives such as Inferno will also be considered. SC29/WG12 (MHEG 6) has issued a CD that expects to incorporate the Java Byte Code specification (CD 13522-6) - presumably closing 12/96.
