As a result, it is now appropriate for the language-independent projects within WG15 to transition to use the models and notation defined in these standards. WG11 has also embarked on a new project to develop TR 14369 - Guidelines for the Preparation of Language-Independent Service Specifications, using the POSIX LIS Guidelines as a base document. Brian Meek of the UK has produced an initial draft, which was reviewed at the WG11 meeting in Copenhagen in April, 1996. A draft suitable for DTR registration is expected by the end of 1996. Following completion of Part 1 of its IS 10967 - Language-Independent Arithmetic, specifying basic integer and floating-point datatypes and operations, WG11 has concentrated its main energy on progression of Part 2, specifying additional, mostly transcendental operations.
