I should have immediately called for interested persons to notify Jon Spencer if they wished to engage in an email discussion of these, so he could produce the expected report for the Oct. meeting. I did not do so (I thought a new document was the trigger for this, but on review of the minutes, it is clear that the work should have started in May.) Below is an excerpt from the minutes of the meeting. I would encourage all national bodies to designate at least one person to participate in this email ad hoc, and ask Jon to initate the activity as quickly as possible. Please designate the person(s) from your National Body to participate to Jon Spencer directly. (spencerj@dg-rtp.dg.com) We cannot expect a completed report at the Oct. meeting at this point, but if you can review the issues raised in the various documents (I belive that N476 tries to consolidate these into a single set of comments in some ways), and provide input to Jon, he can get a discussion going. I suspect a specific email reflector for this topic is warrented so participants can communicate directly with eachother. (Jon if you don't have the facility for this, you might contact either IEEE or Keld.) Please forgive my delay in getting this process going.
