I therefore asked Derek Jones and Bill Plauger (convener of WG14) for clarifications, also because I did not have the WG14 papers readily at hand. Here are their answers: --- Forwarded mail from derek@knosof.uucp (Derek M Jones) >From derek@knosof.uucp Tue Dec 14 20:22:07 1993 Keld, >I am sorry if I have misrepresented WG14. But according to my >aging memory this was the decision of WG14 in London. As I recall you were appointed liason some time ago. Since you have not resigned there would have been no need to reappoint you. So this issue is unlikely to have been discussed in London. --- End of forwarded message from derek@knosof.uucp (Derek M Jones) --- Forwarded mail from plauger!pjp@relay.eu.net (P.J. Plauger) Date: Tue, 14 Dec 93 14:13:43 EST From: plauger!pjp@relay.eu.net (P.J. Plauger) My recollection is that your services were accepted as liaison between WG14 and WG15 years ago (Pleasonton IL?) and that nothing has been done to change that. The London meeting evidently did not reaffirm that status, neither did it cancel it. We did express concern there that we have failed to get liaison reports for WG15 altogether too often. P.J. Plauger --- End of forwarded message from plauger!pjp@relay.eu.net (P.J. Plauger) My recollection of the WG14 meeting was that I was appointed liaison to WG15, as a consequence of the discussion of lacking communication with WG15, where I then proposed to volunteer for it, but apparantly a new designation was not needed as I was already appointed liaison to WG15 some years ago (together with 2 UK people). Thus no reappointment was recorded in the minutes. So if you read point 2. in WG15 N418, WG14 Liaison report to WG15: "WG14 has appointed Keld Simonsen as its liaison to WG15." as a decision that was not taken at the WG14 June 1993 meeting in London, but some years before that, then it would be allright. Sorry for any inconvenience my misunderstanding may have had. I hope this can conclude the issue. Keld
