New Zealand views the LIS as the only really important part of the whole POSIX framework -- the lynch-pin between many different operating systems and many different language systems. All other work, apart from conformance work in line with the ideas now coming out of UK, ate seen as necessary preliminaries to getting the ideas together for LIS. We are only a relatively small resource ourselves, but I am sure that I speak for my colleagues in the 'industry' and academe in saying that we will willingly put our shoulder to the wheel in any way that can help within our own constraints. I hope that WG15 members as a whole can bring their countries to the party to make sure that this vitally important work goes on, even if at an unfortunately slower rate! Regards, Keith
