Two chapters (Input/Output and Asynchronous Cooperation Mechanisms) are already available electronically and in hard copy form. ACM/SIGAda/ARTEWG will organize an open meeting with the RRG to review the RRG document (February 22-26, 1993). This document will be generally available by the end of January, 1993. Additional comments and reactions will be circulated electronically. ... 1-7. Ada/POSIX Binding Since WG9's previous request to WG15 has not resulted in an action to submit IEEE P1003.5 (the Ada/POSIX binding) for registration as a CD, WG9 requests ANSI to submit the Ada POSIX binding for "Fast Track" Processing as a standard. ... 1-A. WG11 Liaison: Whereas WG9 is concerned about the work of WG11 and its effect on current and proposed standards and Ada bindings, and whereas WG9 sees two goals for the language independent standards, namely: 1) A common notation for specifying definition of services, 2) A framework for interoperability across different languages Therefore, WG 9 resolves that: 1) Since there exists no standard notation for language independent specification of services, the requirement for mandating language independent specification of services is premature, until such time as the work of WG11 is standardized. 2) Once WG11 has an approved language independent notation, language bindings should be assigned to the language committees, while the language independent specification should remain with domain experts. This will permit each language committee to apply a uniform approach to the language binding issues, without having to concentrate on the technical details of the service definitions. 3) SC22 is requested to include all SC22 language working groups as part of the review and approval process for the work of WG11 in producing any standard language independent notation. This is to ensure that the WG11 notation is suitable for use by all SC22 languages.
