Thank you for your cooperations, Akio Kido ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Date: 1992-11-20 From: Takehisa Inose Chair ISPJ/ITSCJ/SC22/C WG Subject: A request for a pre-review of the Multibyte Support Extensions of ISO C before a CD ballot The attached is the latest version of the Multibyte Support Extensions of ISO C which is the revised version of SC22/WG14/N205(a.k.a. a part of JTC1/SC22/N1252.) This latest version is still not registered as WG14's document and also not registered as JTC1/SC22 document. It will be presented to the next WG14 meeting which will be held in conjunction with ANSI X3J11 committee in Washington D.C. on 1992-12-09/11. After that Washington D.C. meeting a full parts of amendment will be submitted to SC22 for Committee Draft ballot. If that ballot raises no objections, the amendment of ISO C will be approved by middle of 1993. Please note that there may be slight editorial changes depending on results of the next WG14 meeting. And especially note that there might be substantial changes in section 3.8 (extened multibyte functions) bacause those functions are completely new features in this version. We would like to globally ask the people who are contributing to the standardization of the C language to review this MSE specification. Any suggestions or comments for this document are welcome and should be sent to SC22/WG14; E-mail address is SC22WG14@dkuug.dk. The issues which are submitted to WG14 before December can be discussed at the next WG14 meeting, and if they are approved by WG14 committee, there might have a chance to be included into the specification for CD ballot. But the issues which are received by WG14 after the December meeting might be treated as comments for CD ballot.
