Specific answers to the questions raised in WG15 N229R: 1.2.a WG20 has no firm standpoint on which minimum set of classes must exist, but it will be a part of the reference model currently being produced by WG20. WG20 believes that the current set of classes defined in ISO/IEC 9945-2 2nd CD all belong to the minimum set. 1.2.b and 2.2: Please see the WG20 position paper on character use in identifiers in ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG20 N085. 1.2.c: It has for a long time been a requirement by the SC22 ad hoc group on character handling to have programming language functionality to define new classes and change the contents of predefined classes.
