Cc: wg15@dkuug.dk X-Charset: ASCII X-Char-Esc: 29 Dear Friends, It's right that ECMA is trying to "fast-track" PCTE as an international standard. ECMA is trying to find out, which SC is best for doing so, the 2 SCs in question are; SC22 and/or SC7 (Software Development), I got their (ECMAs) standard through SC22 and SC7 distribution. In my opinion, we SC22 members should short address this issue during plenary in Vienna. As Bob Follet, I've met Mr. Jan Van Beld and spoke with him about this issue. They, ECMA, would like to have this standard adopted as an international standard as soon as possible and in the right way. On the other hand, I know that it's quite a big interest in PCTE within SC7, especially in Europa. Best regards - Isak KORN PS: Maybe that it's not known to all of you, that I've joined the Commission of the European Communities, since April this year, and as such I'm not longer the HoD for Denmark. I'll join SC22 Plenary in Vienna as an observer from CEC, regarding standardisation (which is my main task her within Commission), and relation to "Open Systems" especially. You can still send e-mail to my Danish address, but if you want to send a message directly to me her in Belgium (I've moved to Brussels), you can mail me at following e-mail address: iko@dg13.cec.be Phone no.: +32 2 236 60 53 (direct line) or +32 2 235 11 11 ext. 66 053 (through switch board) Fax no.: +32 2 235 93 79 Postal address: Commission of the European Communities (CEC) DG XIII/E.4 - BREYDEL 6/56 Rue de la Loi 200 B - 1049 Brussels BELGIUM Visit address: CEC DG XIII/E.4 - BREYDEL 6/56 Avenue d'Auderghem 45 B - 1049 Brussels BELGIUM
